Over the last 3 CP Ian has gained group over taking the lead lady and putting himself in 6th place over all, still 2nd GBR to Alister Higgins.This is the last push to the end with less than a marathon to run the athletes can smell the finish line! The rolling hills don’t make it easy but now constantly on his favourite surface tarmac, Ian is still moving great.
With a most fog hampering vision of cars it’s important reflective kit and light sources are working and worn! We were going to go for a Christmas tree effect for Ian but stuck to being conservative with head torch, reflective foot band and a Hi Vis breathable jacket.With 11km to go untill the next crew stop it’s great he is in high spirits. From there it’s hlf marathon distance to the finish and just one more crewing opportunity.The sun will start to rise soon on the #Road2Sparta which should give Ian a welcomed additional lift.
