Osteoporosis? Here is a consensus statement for exercise recommendation.

Key recommendations as published in the August Edition of the British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) are those with osteoporosis should partake in:

Resistance and impact exercise to maximise bone strength; Activities that improve strength & balance to reduce falls risk; Spinal extension exercises that benefit posture and potentially reduce risk of falls and therefore vertebral fractures.

Aqua Aerobic, Pilates, Walking, Cycling and Swimming are all worth considering.

Evidence is sparse regarding physical activity being associated with significant harm, and the benefits, in general, outweigh the risks.
